Leaving a closed religious community is like stepping out of a time machine. Compelled since childhood to find connection and community author Patricia Hinckley found her quest had spiraled to a place of isolation and cultural encapsulation. Caught on a treadmill of constantly trying harder to find acceptance and approval she homesteaded and home churched while homeschooling five children.
