Originally published in 1965 this volume was intended to supplement an earlier volume of Adler’s work by presenting his later writings which had until then not appeared in book form. It contains 21 papers by Adler, 17 of which are dated between 1931 and 1937, two are dated 1928 and 1929, and two are undated. The Editors believed that in addition to strengthening the knowledge of Adler’s psychology, it would convey to the reader an appreciation of his theory and practice as having been formulated by a man who, perhaps more than any other in his field, felt the great responsibility of the psychologist toward mankind and who was untiring in meeting this responsibility. Today it can be read and enjoyed in its historical context.
