It is said that the mother is Para, the supreme consciousness. This supreme consciousness is referred to in infinite ways. The Dasha Maha-Vidyas are also the great cosmic expressions of the same consciousness. Kali is known as Pathama, Adya and Shyama.As para, mother does not have any form or attributes. She is Avyakta. But, when involved with the activities of creation, maintenance and destruction, she assumes innumerable forms. Where everything of the existence converges and dissolves, Upanishads call it Samvarga. Kali Vidya is known as Samvarga Vidya. This book deals with Kali Vidya as a part of the Dasha Maha Vidyas.
