Excerpt from Water Supply Outlook for Nevada and Federal-State-Private Cooperative Snow Surveys: May 1, 1977 The Carson River drainage forecasts range from 53 percent for Carson River, Carson City to 80 percent on the West Carson at Woodfords. The East Carson near Gardnerville is forecast at acre-feet or 53 percent. July 3 is forecast as the day when a 200 cfs flow is reached, compared to a July 20 average date. Water supplies will be short unless the snowfall during the next two months is above average. The Walker River forecasts are acre-feet on the East Walker and acre-feet on the West Walker. Reservoir storage in Topaz is acre-feet which is acre-feet above last year. Bridgeport Reservoir contains acre-feet, or acre-feet above average. This storage will supplement the water supplies this season, but more snow is needed to insure an adequate supply.
