The story encourages children to see beyond divisive efforts: big versus small; native versus newcomer;and powerful versus powerless; thereby helping them realize their potentials in spite of possible barriers they may encounter. It also gives them the opportunity to analyse and understand the values of diversity in solving problems. Furthermore, this book is meant to inspire children to understand that their concerns are shared and that there are solutions for the problems that they may encounter. It is meant to help them develop perseverance even when they are faced with difficult circumstances, such as bullying or when they feel out of place with bullies at the helm in their immediate environments-the courage to not lose hope. It also emphasizes that even those who were once considered as bullies or those who seemed to have caused lots of pain can learn and change their ways for the better. Along the way, the book addresses the powers of fairness and understanding over selfishness and bullying. The possibilities of developing problem-solving skills by sharing concerns and working together towards common positive goals and visions are also presented.
