THE WORLD CHANGES US is Giacomino Nicolazzo’s second collection of short stories. But it is book filled with something more than stories. It is more like a book of guided meditations, designed and written with the intent to require anyone who picks it up to interact with the author on a deeply personal level. These stories will require something of you as the reader…something more than just your attention. They will require you use your imagination.What you are about to read could very well be circumstances or events taken from your own life…your own experiences. When you read them, Giacomino asks you allow them to inhabit your thoughts…let them stir your memories. Flesh them out. Make them into your own stories, autobiographies if you are so inclined. All of these stories have a curious edge to them. Even a dangerous power. Though they flow from the deepest recesses of the author’s heart and imagination, they are also manifestations of greater truths…your truths. Truth is all at once the most wonderful, yet most terrifying and mystifying force in the world. At times it is even too impossible to believe.These stories are powerful. Most are short, some a bit longer than others. Some are abnormally short, as brief as a few paragraphs. Others are poems or pieces of prose. A few could be considered parables. Some, mere and random bits of wisdom. But I assure, there is order to it all…there is a method to my madness.
