Mandarin Chinese language consists of thousands of complicated characters. In order to have a decent conversation with a native Chinese speaker, a foreigner need to learn nearly 3,000 characters. Obviously, it's a long journey to learn thousands of characters. That's why, when you are learning Mandarin Chinese language, you should try your best to read as many Chinese books as possible. Reading Chinese books will help you better understand and remember Chinese characters and words in the long-term. The books in Simple Chinese Sentences series provide you a variety of sentences for Chinese reading comprehension (). Each of the Chinese sentence includes pinyin and two English interpretations.
