Cosmic evolution is the universally accepted theory of creation by the scientific community. It explains how the universe came into being from a colossal explosion, how life originated from non-biological compounds, and how life evolved to form all the species that have ever lived. These three principles are called the big bang, abiogenesis, and organic evolution, respectively. Christian theologians, on the other hand, dismiss these principles as pseudo-science. They consider cosmic evolution as an unnecessary complication of a supernatural creation conducted by an omnipotent God. This work examines creationism from both the cosmic evolution and the traditional Christian perspective and explains why neither points of view satisfactorily resolves the mystery. A model of creation is then proposed that is a synthesis of both the natural and the supernatural. This model not only satisfies all of the evidence used by the scientific community to support cosmic evolution but provides a far more practical approach to the role of the supernatural. It is based on the fundamental principle that in order to comprehend the mystery of creation, one must first obtain a correct understanding of the character of God. The Great Secret is the key to that understanding.
