This book is primarily about how a 52 year old African-American actually made it to this age and the trials and tribulations that I had to overcome in which to do so in the United States. Moreover, I wrote this book in order to be somewhat of a guide for young Americans who are trying to traverse this thing called life in the hopes that they will not make the same mistakes that I did. In the process of doing this, I am very transparent about the things that have done and haven't done in order to make my life better. In the book, I write candidly about how America has basically "screwed" its Black citizens politically, socially, economically and every other kind of "ly" that one can imagine. Yes, America "freed" us physically under the leadership of Lincoln but we did not receive the fair treatment in this country so that we could truly appreciate that freedom. For example, for all intents and purposes the main areas of healthcare, housing and education were oblivious to the black experience from the moment of our "freedom" in this country until present day. This reality is not acceptable and not GOD like in any stretch of the imagination. Lastly, this book seeks to be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem in lessening the great divide of equality between Blacks and Whites in this country.
