After two decades of rule by an iron handed dictator, revolt stirs. Guerrilla insurgency, protests, terrorism, the hands of a revolutionary group seeking to overthrow the dictatorship.Jonas Marx finds himself being released from one of the country's most notorious prisons, yet release did not bring him freedom. No one had that, no one ever had. Utopolis never knew freedom, only autocracy. Jonas Marx attempts to go back to the life he knew before the incident that caused his arrest, yet finds himself unwillingly thrown into a conspiracy by the brutal Secret Police, tragedy befalling, he and his fiance flee for their lives from the Secret Police. After suffering many ill fates and developing a general hatred for the world around him, Jonas joins the revolutionary army led by a charismatic yet fiercely ideological political leader. After struggle, bloodshed, and chaos, the revolution succeeds.After many ground shaking events, the years old dictatorship finds itself in the midst of revolution. Mass protests, uprisings, defections, and civil disobedience throughout the land lead the dictatorship to crumble. During the turmoil and void of the revolution, the guerrillas enter the Capital City and seize power. Yet, after assuming control, the new "revolutionary" government develops a nasty side. The new government becomes just as totalitarian, if not more so, than the government they just overthrew. Jonas Marx must then cope with the reality he helped to create in his country. His moral objections to his former comrades lead to his imprisonment once again, this time in a maniacal re-education camp, where he faces torture, hard labor, endless propaganda, and his world shattering around him.
