Author Description

A screenplay by award-winning writer Kris Lippert.THE SCULPTOR is a crime thriller in the vein of 'Seven' and 'The Silence of the Lambs', fused with a slice of Lovecraftian horror that lures the audience into a sordid tale of mystery and mysticism. In a modern-day Lovecraftian city, Detective Kelly Hyde hunts a serial killer who leaves his victims in elaborate poses. The investigation takes a supernatural turn when she discovers that the killer sacrifices people to an ancient deity to have his wish granted as a reward.THE SCULPTOR mixes a crime suspense premise with mystical elements, serving an easy-to-follow plot as each clue leads to Kelly investigating a new lead, allowing the story to unfold in a fluid manner.Kelly is a departure from typical female protagonists; she substitutes likability with intrigue, something usually reserved for male heroes. She is smart, confident and dedicated to her work, but also a little brash and emotionally stunted. She is an antihero, and women typically aren't portrayed as such.
