Hidden in the night, protected from the world. It waited in darkness. Cold wind blew from the north, filling the air with fear. It carried with it a mist that swept through the cracks, slipping past the thick curtains drawn to conceal the secrets inside. Midnight breeze slowly moved the drapes. They drifted back into place for a moment and moved again, higher. Taking in a breath she closed the window. Chills ran down her spine. A light mist filled the room and covered her feet.
