35 years ago, I burned a government building, a mental health center, for reasons that are too long to go into here. For that, I spent 16 years in prison. In prison you have lots of free time, and we used to get together and tell stories. I would tell my stories, and people liked them. At one point, a guy suggested that I should write up my stories, maybe in a book. So when I got out, I did just that: I wrote stories and anecdotes into two notebooks, and they sat for 20 years. Then someone started a writing group at the Northampton Recovery Center. I bought a notebook, and I began to copy over the stories and edit them. The process evolved, and I got some advice from my niece, who is a librarian and knows something about the publishing business. With the help of others, I produced a typed manuscript, to be submitted to Amazon for publication. These stories are the stories of my experiences while incarcerated in Massachusetts.
