My beginning started on March 17, 1986. For on this day, I asked God to save me from myself. I spoke with him just as I was talking to anyone sitting right beside or in front of me. I just calmly and honestly asked him to save me and help me to live – to live a life with purpose. I knew I was on the edge – at the very verge of death. Yes, I knew I was at the end. I had very little life left inside of this broken body. Life had taken its toll on this girl, and she was at her breaking point. Little did I know, He actually heard me and granted me new life. Me - a drunk trying to find her way in life. Me - a drunk with the thrill of the needle problem. Me - a drunk who spent a lifetime struggling to survive. Me - a drunk girl who was frightened but didn’t want to give up or give in. Tonight, yes, on this night all my wishes were granted. I just didn’t realize it. So now, let’s hold on for the real ride!
