The travel writing contained in this book is a collection of E. C. Glendenny’s early scribblings containing pieces from her earliest published newspaper column to award-winning magazine articles. There are also some of her regular contributions, which have appeared on the Mudskipper Press blog and, for aficionados of her work, several previously unseen articles published here in their entirety. E. C. Glendenny’s travels have taken her from the jungles of Belize to the villages of the Cinque Terre; from the island of Lundy in the Bristol Channel to the Milford Track in New Zealand. Her musings range across subjects, from the fallibility of travel memories to the irritation of bad newspaper editing; from snorkeling in a submerged volcano in the Galapagos Islands to joining Romanian loggers on a steam train in the Vaser Valley.
