Our dream of a small resort on the Indonesian island of Bali appeared as a reality. We thought we had everything under control, but unfortunately the reality was different. An experience of almost a year, there was fun, challenge, and betrayal that ensured that we had to start again in the Netherlands with nothing. Ellen Claasz Coockson (1951) promised herself, after her first visit to Bali in 1980, to come back. In 2002, she went with her husband to Bali and decided to start a small resort. The October 12, 2002 bombing brought this decision to a halt, but the opportunity came again in 2005 and the following year, the dream became a reality for a while but ended with a miscalculated ""friendship.""
