The year is 1989. Eleven-year-old Kim faces the separation of her parents. Following the sudden departure of her father, she becomes entangled in a web of helplessness, sadness and uncertainty. She resists her mother and gets in trouble. She is looking for a way to survive. Eventually, she married and became a mother to a daughter with Down Syndrome. Surprisingly, it is from this event that Kim found the strength to move on. Kim Lenaers was born in 1977, in Stramproy. As "therapy" for her impressive life story, she started writing her biography. The result of that is this extraordinary book.
