Trixie Gardner, Baroness Gardner of Parkes, is the oldest sitting female member of UK Parliament. Born in Australia in 1927, she moved to London in 1954 after training to become a dentist. She became a life peer in 1981 after a long career in local government. "Politics should be about coming together to discuss how to make people's lives better, not standing divided over polarised personal views."
