The Health Hazard Evaluation Program received a request from a steel mill in Pennsylvania. The employee and union representatives were concerned about skin irritation and possible respiratory problems from fiberglass fibers shedding from their cut-resistant sleeves. They were also concerned about safety and hygiene problems from the required use of these sleeves. The report includes the authors' findings and recommendations.
