Voluntary code for use by producers, industry personnel, scientists, educators, and animal welfare groups. The code defines standards for housing, nutrition and health, stockmanship, transportation, and handling at processing facilities. Appendices include emergency plans for water and power failure and for transport, guidelines for humane killing of pigs on the farm, reportable diseases, and wind chill factor for pigs in transit.
