Author Description

"Don't tell my mother I work in lobbying, she thinks I'm an international lawyer!"Lobbyists are everywhere: NGOs on the offensive, industry on the defensive. Glyphosate, GMOs, pesticides, Green Deal… it feels like we're in a novel or in a film.A privileged observer and often a leading actor on the EU stage, Daniel Guéguen exposes the reality of a Europe whose political vision has been drowned amidst a dominant, sterile and authoritarian bureaucracy. We need to act now! If things remain as they are, violent confrontation is inevitable since the conditions for fruitful dialogue between institutions, economic sectors and civil society are absent. The territory we are entering into poses a real threat. To avoid the worst, we must carry out an urgent reform of EU governance and restore the conditions for dialogue between inward-looking industry groups and an NGO world overly prone to excess and caricature.
