Author Description

Hell has come to the desert. The Persian Gulf War is beginning. Desperate to shatter the Allied Coalition, Iraq attempts to draw Israel into the "Mother of all Battles" by firing Scud missiles at Israeli cities. Always poised to strike, Israel is close to unleashing its war machine against the armies of Saddam. Given the mission to destroy Scud missile launchers and thus keep Israel from entering the war, a U.S. Special Forces team is dropped into the Arabian desert. From the start, things begin to go wrong. A massive sandstorm envelopes the team. Barely surviving, Joe Landon becomes separated from his fellow Green Berets. In a twist of fate, he encounters an Iraqi soldier buried up to his chest. How? By the enormous storm the previous night? Or, by this strange fellow's comrades, all of whom now lie dead before him? And what of the Green Beret's new companion? Who, or - what is he? A nomadic schizophrenic driven mad by the chaos of war, or a high-ranking demon who has mistaken Landon for the biblical hero Job? This is more than a story of one man's perseverance over evil. It is a story about the endurance of the human soul and the promise of deliverance for those who believe in something larger than themselves--De oppresso liber.
