From the March 2001 workshop come 67 papers dedicated to the study of the young stellar groups and young isolated stars identified within 100 parsecs of the sun. It is the feeling of Jayawardhana (University of California at Berkeley) and Greene (NASA Ames Research Center) that these bodies constitute laboratories for testing ideas about star and planet formation as they may give the best chance of directly imaging a young extrasolar planet.
