Design wraps, octavo, 163 pp. This copy was owned by Genzlinger's daughter, with small TLS by her laid in; hence, something of a nice association copy. Very modest trace edge wear here and there, light toning to covers; a very sharp Near Fine, tight and bright for a wraps publication from Gray Barker's Saucerian Press, most of which actually did get thoroughly read, hence experienced wear. The Jessup Dimension is about as rare a title as I've encountered in the UFO category, an account of a latter-day investigation of the mysterious 1959 death - offically, by suicide - of UFO researcher and author Morris K. Jessup ('The Case For the UFO', 'The Expanding Case For the UFO'). Jessup had been, near the time of his death, investigating what is now called 'The Philadelphia Experiment' - which meant investigating the U.S. Navy and the enigmatic 'Carlos Allende' (Carl Allen) as well. Around 1978 - during the "first revival' of interest in Jessup's mysterious demise - Gray Barker received a phone call from someone in the Miami area (who turned out to be Anna Genzlinger) claiming to "KNOW" that Jessup's death was not suicide. When Barker asked her for evidence, she replied she didn't have any - but was going to get some. This 1981 book is the product of her efforts. Though, per Barker, when Genzlinger started, "the scent had long grown cold" on the mystery of Jessup's death, Genzlinger nonetheless "DID find things out. MANY things. Many uncomfortable things...not only did she uncover intriguing facts, but an entirely new dimension to the entire affair". From that 'dimension' comes the title of this book, and it is 'an alarming idea which could create MORE Jessup mysteries'. This is only the third copy of The Jessup Dimension I've ever personally seen become available, and two were family-owned copies. I have no idea why that might be. L64
