In the midst of a routine exercise within the National Young Men Sword Training Academy, James Halsor, his two siblings, and some of his closest friends, are ripped from Earth and transported to Proxima Solari C, better known as the Golden Planet–the only inhabited world beyond our solar system. Immediately, James realizes things are very wrong. They’ve been transported four light years–a fifteen year trip for the fastest spacecraft–in an instant. Their once normal swords now radiate otherworldly auras. Most shockingly of all, previously firm relationships have been shattered beyond recognition. James and his friends must adapt to this foreign planet, a world torn by civil war between the Defenders and the Dark Army, as they grapple with the newfound powers these swords have given them. Amidst the chaos, James’ ultimate test lies in navigating these new roles, in shining back against the shadow looming over the Golden Planet.
