Author Description

Lost in motherhood and the abundance of love for your children? Lost in a relationship and fighting for your family to stay together? Lost in your career and the direction you should be taking? Lost in your self-worth and what goals you want to aspire to? Through themes of femininity, motherhood, love and trauma, the Female Identity Crisis explores the expectations we impose on ourselves as women. Even thinking of how much you have had to change and how all-consuming on your character motherhood is, it can fill you with guilt and self-sabotage, interrupting your very own freedom of thought. The love you have and the life you live through and for your children is so closely intertwined to your 'self' that you can forget what truly makes you, 'you'. In a modern society where women have more opportunities but still feel propelled to uphold the domestic primary care-giver role, this collection of poetry explores these contradictions and pressures in its most raw form. Allow yourself to laugh, relate, and feel depths of sadness and isolation while simultaneous bursting in an abundance of gratitude- you will be given the permission to feel the paradox of womanhood. 'Until we have made it: we're out. And alive. Broken, and searching. For another new place to thrive'.
