Author Description

"A homesickness for a home you can't return to, or that never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for the lost places of your past." There is a special kind of grief felt for the living. A grief for a future you thought you would have, a life you thought you'd be living. A grief for the past reality you can never experience again. A grief for the relationship you once had with someone that has changed or you've even lost entirely in a way other than death. A healing grief for your inner child, or a past trauma. It is a feeling far deeper than disappointment, a mix between nostalgia and bereavement. Come with me on my exploration of that distinct emotion.
