Excerpt:... CORRECTIONS FROM THE STANDARD OF 1871. THE standard of 1871 was (theoretically) a new edition of that of 1845, differing from it in certain particulars, which are specified in a report to be found on pp. 535 sqq. of the Journal of the General Convention of 1871, under the three heads of "Typographical Inaccuracies," "Alterations," and "Corrigenda." These have received the careful attention of the committee, and the changes in the book of 1845, made in accordance with them, should be first noted. 1. Of the "typographical inaccuracies" noted, a part are in the Tables of Lessons, or in other places of the Prayer Book which have been changed by the action of the General Convention since 1871, and a part are in passages of Holy Scripture, which have been compared for this report directly with the text of the Bible. Of the remainder, nearly all are errors which we have corrected in accordance with the report of 1871, as follows (it should be noted that the standard editions of 1845 and 1871 agree in pagination): Page 209, in rubric, read "after every Commandment" [capital initial]. Page 244, in second rubric, read "omission" [small initial; and the same correction in the third rubric on page 237]. Page 255, in fifth rubric, read " troth" [small initial]. Page 261, punctuate third verse of Psalm as in the Psalter. Pages 274, 275, titles not to be printed as rubrics. Page 276, line 4, read " art" for " are." Page 325, rubric, read " exultemus" [small initial]. Page 417, Ps. 74:14, read " brakest" [as in 1790] for " breakest."' Page 455, Ps. 104: 20, read " forest" for "forests."
