Dan Kruger, the atypical private eye with a penchant for mavericks and lost souls, is back. This time the "lost soul" is Elvia Reyes, a Mexican waif who hires Kruger to find her brother Ricardo. Ricardo has a package that belongs to Elvia. She won't reveal its contents but she desperately wants it back. Stalking Ricardo gets Kruger in over his head, often running on empty. In his own words, "the bad guys are as mean as cornered wolverines." And they all want that package. Kruger, hell-bent on tilting the windmills of justice, provokes a showdown that is as hair-raising as it is horrific.
