Domestic Violence, both physical and mental, is a form of control. With physical abuse, the body heals itself. The broken arm will eventually mend.Mental control, used to dominate the whole existence of a person, never heals. It remains for the lifetime of both the controller and those being controlled. Even in death, the psychological damage lingers but never disappears.This is a story of such control and the family it consumed. Through the years there were many triumphs and failures that molded this family. Several generations were witness to this and the victories far outweighed the failures. The true victim was my mother, the Fifth of Four Children.
