After the death of her mother, Risa Bruce travels to Simla, India to find her missionary father, whom she has never met and never been told much about. With no other family left, Risa sold her art gallery back in California, giving her full energy to pursue her quest. She meets resistance at every turn to learn of her father, Alan Bruce. No one claims to have heard of the missionary man who disappeared over twenty years ago. But to Risa, the denial of most seems to overlay secrecy. With the help of Kumar, her Indian lover, Risa learns why the mystery of Alan Bruce has been closely safeguarded for so long.
