Author Description

Home Thoughts is a collection of poetry written by the British Indian diaspora, the first of its kind, to be published in India. It features the work of contemporary British Indian poets, both familiar and fresh voices. This is the poetry of assimilation and resistance, the binary perspective that recurs in diasporic writing. The collection projects the immigrant s hopes, dreams and disappointments. The anthology aspires to create a new dimension for British Indian poetry by gathering cultural integrity, displacement and home thoughts in the folds of its metaphors. Home Thoughts engages the diaspora and reflects the commitment of the editors to bring home the poetry of exile.
