This is a book about the joy of taking a long walk in the woods. The joy of being blessed with the company of a fine canine companion. The challenge and thrill of hunting the elusive ruffed grouse. It is about a chance at living life the best you can with whatever you are given. It is also about chasing after your dreams. If you combined hope with a dream, you will always get up and tackle another day, no matter what life throws at you to try to bring you down. Douglas B. Egenolf was born and raised just south of Indianapolis, Indiana and is the youngest of seven children. He has traveled the United States through his work and for pleasure. He is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a current member of the Ruffed Grouse Society. He still calls Indiana his home where he resides with his wife and two children
