Author Description

Sugar Bear says, "Be Kind, Healthy and Clean" is a special book that gives examples of what to strive for as children learn good behaviors and practices." This book is especially fun because all the guidance is given by a loveable dog named Sugar Bear. The coaching by Sugar Bear is presented in a way that allows children not only to enjoy the images of the adorable dog setting a good example but also absorb his positive messages. The author, Laura McCallum (with strong support and guidance from her mother), wanted to present encouraging lessons in an amusing way. It was her intent to find a subject-Sugar Bear-to whom children would respond while taking the likeable dog's valuable advice to heart. Laura received a great reward when she watched children giggle while reading this book, then tell her how much they liked it. Truly amazing Laura hopes you and your children will enjoy experiencing this book as much as she did creating it About the Author Laura has always loved nature, animals, and witnessing random acts of kindness. With that in mind, coming up with the idea to incorporate a live dog into a book that helps parents and children learn the importance of being kind, along with cleanliness and nutrition, seemed very fitting. Along with Laura's mother, who created all the props, we believe we have developed a creative, fun, and interesting book that is also unique. After all, there is a live dog delivering these important messages Our hope is that this book will inspire children to look toward a good role model-Sugar Bear -who will hopefully influence children to be mindful while teaching them cleanliness, nutrition, and most of all, kindness.
