Author Description

This book chronicles a true story (except for having dogs with the ability to talk). The series tells of a bichon frise pup, Giggles, and her older friend, an American pit bull terrier named Owen, who live in Billerica, Massachusetts. They have many exciting experiences together. Each of their adventures moves them forward into another eventful adventure, and each one is a true occurrence. This series is designed for elementary school children, but may be enjoyed by all ages. You will find that each book has a moral to teach through the experiences of Giggles and Owen, and is written with the idea of helping the young reader build a vocabulary. Some words used in each adventure have been inserted in the back of the book for special viewing in Owen's Dictionary. As you read the different adventures in this series, you will find humor, a little New England history and ideas on opportunities for you and your dog. The many illustrations will not only be enjoyed by Giggles' and Owen's local communities, but by anyone appreciating the potential of a growing New England town. The writer and illustrator hope you will enjoy THE ADVENTURES OF GIGGLES AND OWEN: A TRUE STORY as Giggles grows up and learns from Owen the importance of manners and a good vocabulary. Owen will give Giggles a lesson in confidence in each adventure.
