Thanking Mama is written in honor and appreciation of our Mother and Mothers everywhere. Mother's Day is a very special "day" to celebrate our Mothers. Thanking Mama is a very special "way" to celebrate our Mothers. The book emphasizes strong family values and belief in God. Through the celebration of Easter, Christmas and birthdays, we see the joy that Mama brought to the family. Music was a wonderful part of every family holiday celebration. Singing along as Mama played the organ or the piano always enhanced the enjoyment of every holiday. Another major delight at every holiday was the food, especially the favorite birthday cake baked to please the birthday kid. No celebration of this family would be complete without the favorite family sport...baseball. Whether it was winter, summer, spring or fall, the kids always loved to play baseball in the front yard of the farm house. A big thrill of this book is the excitement that our grandchildren enjoyed while posing for the pictures to represent us and to celebrate their great-grandmother. A portion of the profits from the sale of this book will be contributed to the Farmer Historic Preservation Society, Inc., a 501 C 3 non-profit organization. This organization is dedicated to: "Preserving the Past" "Investing in the Future" and "Enjoying the Present". About the Author Dr. Becky Harris Greer has spent her life as a dedicated educator. She began her work in education at age 18 as a school secretary in Farmer, North Carolina and continued to serve in education to become a school superintendent for the Radford City Schools in Radford, Virginia. As the first member of her farm family to attend college, she began her college education at High Point University using a small scholarship which was enough to cover tuition for one semester. After two semesters at Randolph County Community College while working as a school secretary, she went on to receive her degree in Elementary Education from the
