Author Description

About the Author Mark Tavakoli was born in 1940 in a small town in northern Iran. After finishing his medical education at Tehran University, he moved to America in 1966. He completed a one-year internship at St. Elizabeth Hospital and three years of residency at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City and Syracuse University. He moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1972 and retired in October 2006.
