The farm where she lived on Lee h00k.road was originally purchased from the Hilton fanuly in.the l74os by her great - great grandfather, Josiah Bartlett, the brother of the famous Revolutionary war figure Col. Thomas Bartlett of Nottingham. In the 19th century the Bartlett Homestead, which at one time numbered nearly 400 acres, became known as one of the best farms in Strafford County. It remained in family hands until Alice deeded the property to the University of New Hampshire in 1984. It was on this farm.that 1alice*was born in 1902 and.it was there she died.
