Provides a theoretical basis to understanding blood flow in normal disease conditions. It examines the relationship between pulsatile pressure and flow in the arteries using a mathematical model of fluid flow principles. The current authors have developed the ground-breaking work of Donald McDonald through three editions during a period in which arterial disease has exploded as a huge clinical problem in the developed and developing world, and the content now reflects the application of the original hemodynamic discoveries to everyday clinical practice.
