These articles represent reports of research from a group of research-practitioners at the Department of Psychiatry, Novosibirsk, Siberia, USSR. This series of articles contain a general discussion of attitudes toward the problem of alcoholism, epidemiology of addictive disorders, classification of addictive behaviors, attitudes toward treatment and prevention, and a description of clinical symptoms of alcoholism and psychological disorders and their progression in both men and women.
