The goals of English 5 are: to foster an appreciation of language as a gift from God; to develop the correct use of English grammar in written and oral communication; to use the writing process to teach different types of compositions; to encourage clear and effective writing; to develop study and reference skills; to improve listening annd speaking skills; to encourage enjoyment through chapter themes and connections to other subject areas.
