When several body parts were found scattered in and around the city, the people of Norwich embarked on a feverish search for more pieces of flesh. But whose body was it? And where did it come from? In spite of lengthy investigations into missing persons, no light was cast upon the identity of what appeared to be a murder victim... Until some eighteen years later when an old and broken man walked into a London police station and confessed to his crime. In this work, genealogist Lyn Dyson has identified most of the people who were involved in finding the body, or who gave evidence at the trial, as well as the police officers involved, the legal, medical, and prison staff, and the coroner, judge, and hangman.
