The past decades have witnessed a dramatic increase in the research on lung and heart-lung transplantation. With the aim to provide a comprehensive review on lung and heart-lung transplantation, we are glad to launch this new book From Lung Transplantation to Heart-Lung Transplantation. The book consists of high-quality articles published in AME journals. It includes all aspects of lung and heart-lung transplantation and their related technologies. In the first chapter, comprehensive reviews on the current status and problems of lung transplantation are provided, and include topics such as chronic rejection, potential complications, organ shortage, intraoperative management, and others. In the second chapter, perspectives from international leading experts on pediatric and adult indications, prognosis, and donor selection are provided. The third and fourth chapters are about related technology and immunological rejection, respectively. We hope that the readers will enjoy this first edition, and, in the near future, we wish to further expound the future directions and state-of-the-art techniques of the field in a second edition.
