They found what they were pretending to look for. They discovered what they doubted had ever really existed. They were looking for the remnants of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, or at least the cities that inspired the myth of Sodom and Gomorrah, but they found something else, more disturbing and more sinister. Archeology professor Aldrich Anderson and a handful of graduate students traveled to Palestine to search for traces of the doomed cities. The professor was hoping for the renown attached to a great archeological find, and the students wanted materials for their graduate theses. The myth that they had so easily dismissed had become the reality that they were forced to embrace. What they found altered their worldview, their perception of reality, and the direction of their lives. Each member of the group faces stark choices that result in both tragedy and triumph.
