Author Description

The Vietnam war was a conflict so violent, so bizarre that it left a whole generation of young Americans too shocked and scarred to understand the nightmare they had been through. Only now, more than twenty years after the conflict began, are the Vietnam veterans beginning to talk about an experience America had wanted them to forget. Nam draws on the memories of these men, telling the full story of America's Vetnam war. With specially commissioned chapters, written by the men who were there, *Nam* describes what it felt like to import billion dollar, hi-tech destruction to Southeast Asia. Fact boxes five invaluable background to these first-hand accounts, while authoritative information strips deal with the history of the conflict. Throughout, unrivalled period photography captures the visual fire of this unprecedented struggle.
