Collection of poetry. William Wordsworth has defined Poetry as 'the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility' and he has declared that 'poet is a man talking to men'. 'Songs From Stuyvesant Falls' is a collection of poems penned, dictated and originally published online by Satsvarupa dasa Goswami in July-September 2011. This 'talking' poetry is bound and encased in the tranquility of early hours of the morning, when the poems were written, and follows a general pattern: each one begins with a long stanza, retelling of Caitanya-lila, then a stanza from Bhajana-rahasya, then often stanzas from the 'little life' of the author, who has published over 30 volumes of poetry. Each piece is ended with a specific stanza of a personal meditation on puja, or sacred ritual of intimate worship, to Radha-Govinda, the presiding Deity of Viraha Bhavan, the ashrama where these powerful and flowing emotions were captured in a modern poetic form.Caitanya Candrodaya Dasa
