Unlike many Western legends, Annie Oakley (1860-1926) was more fact than fiction. She was born Phoebe Ann Mosey, and at the age of eight was hunting and trapping to support her family. By the time she was 15, Annie was sought after for exhibitions and considered one of the best sharpshooters in the country. She toured with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show and many other famous exhibitions.
