About the Author Robert Daley, whose father Arthur Daley was for many years the Sports Editor of The New York Times, has written many highly acclaimed books, including Cars at Speed and The Cruel Sport, two famous reviews of motor racing in Europe in the 1960s which he illustrated with his photographs. Edward Eves contributed both race reports and photographs to The Autocar, and his photographs also appeared in Autocourse and Automobile Year. Alan R. Smith is the author of many motorsports articles and produced the excellent photographic book Fifties Motor Racing The GP Scene. Nigel Snowdon, together with his wife Diana Burnett, has been a major contributor of photographs to the British racing annual Autocourse, has been particularly known for his portraits of Grand Prix drivers and is the author of an outstanding new book of his work:Formula One Through the Lens.
