Six months prior to the birth of Alexander the Great,as Philip II of Macedonia conquers Amphipolis, Daneion Pelos sets sail to bring food from across the sea to a drought-stricken Athens. At the same time,as physician to Olympias before the birth of Alexander, Daneion uncovers a plot within Philip's own council to kidnap the child, unseat the king, and kill Olympias.
