We live in a self-conscious age in which body perception and enhancement play a large part in how we define ourselves. Examines body size; dieting; eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia; self-esteem and peer pressure among young people; the role of fashion and thinness in shaping our body consciousness; plastic cosmetic surgery and the perceived benefits and problems; body remodelling; and the use of drugs such as steroids to achieve body bulking.
